About Earth Sky + Water:

Earth Sky + Water (ESW) is a boutique publishing firm focused on the realistic depiction of nature and localized nature identification. The company’s founder, Steven Lewers, became interested in the use of laminated guides for nature identification while working at Houghton Mifflin, where he served as Director of the Peterson Field Guide Series™.  We started modestly by publishing a single proof-of-concept title, Shells & Beach Life of Sanibel & Captiva Islands, in a multi-paneled, laminated, waterproof format called a FoldingGuide™.

Since then, ESW has gone on to create more than 100 regional FoldingGuide™ titles, as well as museum-quality posters, greeting cards, and boxed notes. Our talented staff of eight works in an old mill building in Wilton, NH, and from a small home office in Bellingham, WA. ESW now publishes the work of more than 30 naturalists and illustrators and offers 1000+ unique products, all of them designed, manufactured, and assembled locally in New England.
